Happy anniversary to me!

Hello, stranger! New here? How about subscribing to my RSS feed? Thanks for visiting!

It’s my one month anniversary blogging today. That’s 30 days longer than I thought I’d last. I’ve come a long way from thinking that sub-prime was a steak sandwich.

Blogging serves two purposes for me: learn more about investments and build upon my web skills. So far, the financial aspects have motivated me to:

  1. consolidate my assets into one financial institution for easier management,
  2. open a SDRSP as I prepare to purchase US denominated assets,
  3. review my savings rate as I was accumulating more than I than I was spending,
  4. justify the selling of poorly performing investments,
  5. create a financial plan that is based on sound investment principles.

As for the technical aspects, I’m in IT so I wanted to learn about blogging. As I wrote in my very first post, I never thought blogs would catch on ;) I feel as though I’m way behind on the technology so unfortunately, I’ll be putting up ads and putting shopping carts with nothing to buy (all for educational purposes)! I know that will tick off some of my readers but I regularly piss off more than 5 people a day anyways. So if you’re still here for my next post, thanks in advance for indulging. :)

Now let’s see if I can last another month…

I like the look of your blog, you are way ahead of me. I am pretty computer savvy in other aspects of my work/life, but so far I have suffered a bit of a mental block when it comes to html or changing my blog layout.

    Happy anniversary!

Ahh, thanks WW! My blog is pretty simple and that’s the way I like it… until I saw a lot of people have a variation of this theme :P Not being a designer, I’m just going to fiddle with colors. As you can see, I’ve widened the layout as I thought it was useful space for advertising :)
