Free Stuff: Your Brain

This is my brain. This is my brain in the Personal Brain.
This isn’t a sponsored post but an addition to my Free Stuff category. I had heard of the Brain a few years ago as a brain storming tool but I didn’t give it much thought until I started blogging. I needed to keep track of my writing topics but I hated jotting down ideas as I always lose the paper work. Remembering this software, I decided to give it a try.
I downloaded the trial to test it out. You fill your Brain with “thoughts”. With this visual representation, you can make parent/child connections and jump thoughts. You can let your mind “wander” (i.e. cycle through your thoughts). You can associate URLs and files to your thoughts. There’s a calendar to remind you to do stuff but frankly, the interface sucks. When the trial ends, the software reverts to its freeware version. My trial hasn’t ended yet but I think the biggest limitation would be only allowing one file attachment per thought. The loss of other options are not worth mentioning.
This software is pretty fun to use and I believe it has helped me keep track of my post topics. At the very least, it inspired me to write this freebie post. I believe this software is useful for anybody who needs to see how their ideas relate to one another in the “big picture”.
