Hey, congrats to them. At least they are talking about it in the pre-marital stage so there is some awareness. Maybe it's the way I was brought up but my mom is a widow and she drilled it into her kids to not be in debt and don't rely on others financially. Thank goodness I don't have this excess baggage.

I've done a couple money sessions for groups going through a pre-marital counselling process. It was pretty amazing how many of the couples had not talked much, if at all, about how they wanted to operate their finances. A few of the couples were clearly comfortable, and had engaged in some discussion. Another had never talked about it at all, but good-naturedly jumped in and did the exercise. But a chilling number were clearly tense and uncomfortable, despite my best efforts at keeping it Lite and with no pressure. Yikes, eh?
