Childish Misunderstandings About Money - Meme

Hello, stranger! New here? How about subscribing to my RSS feed? Thanks for visiting!
I was tagged by Wooly Woman on the Childish Misunderstandings About Money meme originated by the Quest for Four Pillars.
Erm, I still have a lot of childish misunderstandings about money.
One that I can recall as a kid is the term “coin wash”. I’d see all these stores with that sign on them and I thought that’s where people went to wash their bags of money.
In fact, I think I was partially right as I believe that’s how old time crooks used to launder money… through the laundromat as an unusually profitable business to filter dirty money back into the system.
Silly me, I thought they meant it literally so I emptied my piggy bank and washed my money as well.
Hmm, I will tag Centsprout, the Lazy Investor (he might be too lazy to do it) and new to my blogroll, Plonkee Money to share embarrassing stories. Public humiliation: fun, fun, fun!

I think my original comment got lost in your spam filter….
Anyways - I think this was really funny!

Geez, Mike. Stop spamming me with Viagra
Glad you liked the post. I guess I’m good for a few chuckles in the PF world.
Oh man, I SO want to leave a comment that uses the brand name of our favourite little blue pill, but I’m worried I’ll get filtered. I’m trying to think of a memory I had with money but everything in my house was so messed up about it, I don’t think any of them were very amusing. Scarring, maybe, but not amusing.
My dad kept every dollar he owned in a shoe in his closet and every now and again he would change the shoe he kept it in. Maybe he figures that if someone came to rob us, found the money, left it there, and promptly left our house, he’d be safe when they came back. I don’t know.
I also remember moving to England at age 7 and finding a pound coin on the floor of a grocery store on our first day there. I thought England was MADE of money. (I also walked around saying, “I found a pound on the ground” in a faux English accent for about 48 hours.)
I dig the money laundering. Not a bad idea at all…
Naomi,
Eww about the shoe, lol about the “found pound on the ground”.
Just say it on the Viagra, I’ll fetch it from the dungeons if it’s decent
Very amusing story …. i`m still confused at all this `meme` business though, i see it popping up all over the place. Nice use of the `cabbage patch kids` to get the tag across.
Hi Neil, thanks for dropping by
Yep, the CPKs seemed appropriate for this post. I did threaten that I was going to post them, but I don’t think I get the same response as your “car babes” from the Toyko Motor show. Really nice pics. If anyone is a card nerd, go check it out. There are some wacky looking cars. Ahh, the Japanese.
Regarding the memes, I always participate when I get one. Saves me from thinking up a topic
Good one with the coin laundry. It makes sense. And money does get awfully dirty…
Hi Mr. Cheap,
I know, eh?! It made perfect sense to me! I was a smart cookie as a kid
