You’re welcome, guys.
Hey Nancy.
I need to check my Technorati ranking
Entrecard is a good experience but you get what you put in just like other blog building practices – you need to comment, participate in forums, etc. I guess it’s no different than anything else. Just common sense. But it gives bloggers a regular routine when you “reciprocate” card dropping – you drop your card on my widget, I’ll return the favor for you. It’s just proper etiquette.
So yes, it might forge new relationships and such – as well as boosting Alexa ranking as a side effect (if that’s important to you). Technorati depends on backlinks I think (never really looked into it). I just offered to be a contest sponsor so I got backlinks as a result.
I don’t know how useful backlinks are for a blog not search engine optimized for anything
Oh yeah, and another aspect is that you get to advertise on other blogs. I’m really not quite sure how useful this is in getting non-Entrecard traffic though.
Overall, my experience with Entrecard is a positive one. It just takes time to develop those relationships and find a new audience though – something I don’t even know if I’m all that concerned for, for this blog. It’s all an experiment for me to find out what works or not for other niche projects.
